I’m hoping to announce the winner soon for the recent giveaway. But in the meantime, I thought I would post a few moleskine sketches I’ve been working on.
This first one came about after a few things happened. First off I wanted to do an image of a monster emerging from an enclosure or something that framed him in black. Ended up being brush or a wooded area. The actual pose and form came from looking at some Bernie Wrightson artwork. There was an image of Man Thing if I remember correctly that has a similar pose and body shape. I really dug it and wanted to play around with that and have some fun in this sketch:
This one changed as I drew it. Started out as a zombie with big warts or zits or something. And ended up becoming a big messy demon with many bug-like eyes:
And in this last piece, I wanted to draw a troll. It was a real quick one to do and much of it was done with my brush pen to keep it loose. I like it. (That’s a pipe he’s holding – like I said, loose. lol):
