A little late on this post today, but better late than never…
I really enjoyed how this first sketch turned out. A lot of things clicked when I worked on it. No real idea behind it as I was working on it. Just wanted a character with a lot of texture on him. I really think I was getting a nice handle on the contrasts in tone with this one.
This sketch started out with the idea, “What if Falcor (the luck dragon from the Neverending Story) was a humanoid?”. A quick sketch to be sure, but that was the original idea behind it.
